SEDIMENTS - Federico Campanale

Opening: Friday, 10 March, 17 - 20 Uhr

Open Thursday - Sunday 14 - 19 Uhr

For his third solo exhibition, named SEDIMENTS, Federico Campanale shows a selection of 25 photographs from his recent series, Urban Structures  and Geo-memories (2017-2022). Together, they show Campanale’s approach to the representation of urban and natural landscapes to reveal their multifaceted dimension.

The notion of plurality is explored through coexistent architectural styles, historical layers or environmental strata of a specific location or landscape.

The resulting images render the spaces in a way that relates more to memories and selective perception, rather than to exhaustive depiction.

All photographs are made in situ and in camera, without any digital manipulation.

Federico Campanale (1973, France) is a visual artist based in Amsterdam (NL) and working anywhere his subjects bring him. Combining the arts with his education in social geography, Campanale explores the perception of space and how one relates to one’s surrounding. He produces photographic and filmic works, using and merging conceptual and documentary approaches. His work has been shown at numerous film festivals and art exhibitions venues across the world.
