Am I still looking for a golden age?

Suche ich immer noch nach goldenen Zeiten? Unter dem Motto “Golden Age” laden die Berliner Künstlerin Irina Mmur Art und der Fotograf Mark Benini zu einer Werkschau quer durch ihr Schaffen in die Neuköllner Galerie ReTramp. Die Symbiose ihrer Zeichnungen, Gemälde und analoger Fotografien führt in eine mystische und magische Fantasiewelt voller Emotionen und leiser Zwischentöne.

Mit der Ausstellung gehen beide ihrem Gefühl nach, Gold zelebrieren zu müssen, vom Moment an, als negative Assoziationen der letzten Jahre verschwanden und ihnen die Vielseitigkeit und Emotionalität der Farbe bewusst wurde. Sie suchen nach goldenen Momenten und spüren der Widersprüchlichkeit nach, warum der menschliche Geist in der Hoffnung auf goldene Zeiten lieber in Träumereien in die Zukunft flüchtet, anstatt diese in der Gegenwart zu finden.

Irina Mmur wurde 1987 in Riga geboren und lebt seit 1998 in Berlin. Die gelernte Grafikerin und Illustratorin verarbeitet in ihren Bildern Gefühle, Emotionen und Träume, die ihr der Alltag schenkt.

Mark Benini ist ein moderner Nomade mit Sitz in Berlin, geboren 1981 mitten in den italienischen Alpen. Mit der sowjetischen Mittelformat-Kamera Kiev88 fängt er seit mehr als 10 Jahren besondere Momente und Emotionen bei seinen Reisen quer durch die Welt ein.

Under the motto "Golden Age" the Berlin artist Irina Mmur Art and the photographer Mark Benini invite to a retrospective showcase of their work in the Neukölln gallery ReTramp. The symbiosis of their drawings, paintings and analogue photographs leads into a mystical and magical fantasy world full of emotions and soft nuances.

With the exhibition they both follow their need to celebrate gold, from the moment when the negative associations of the last few years disappeared and they became aware of the versatility and emotionality of the color. They are searching for golden moments and feel the contrariness, why the human mind in the hope of golden times rather flees in dreams into the future instead of finding these in the present.

Irina Mmur was born in Riga in 1987 and has lived in Berlin since 1998. The trained graphic artist and illustrator processes feelings, emotions and dreams from everyday life in her pictures.

Mark Benini is a modern nomad based in Berlin, born in the middle of the Italian Alps in 1981. With the Soviet medium-format camera Kiev88 he captures special moments and emotions from his travels across the world since more then 10 years.
