About the works

PODOGT THROUGH THE VOID explores the ties between self-doubt, self-examination and the humbling reality of death and the ensuing cycle of grief and joy. Created between the period of 2019 to 2024, the works depict the parts of me that were split open and spread among different worlds and this one. They show my attempt to mend the pieces together without losing their form nor character. 

About the artist

Ananya has been painting since she was six and likes mostly painting with acrylic paint, pencil and oil pastels. Sometimes an odd hair or some leaves make an appearance. She enjoys painting other worlds and kind creatures in them. Some of her paintings are instinctive abstraction that allow her to indulge in the act of painting itself whereas others are explorative of a specific idea with directed thought. Her work is guided by a mix of curiosity and indulgence.
